Ready for London

Tomorrow night we’re headed to LONDON! Here’s what’s on my mind today…

1. We haven’t even visited London yet and Jonathan already wants to move there.

For my birthday, Jonathan’s parents got us tickets to see The Lion King at the Lyceum. (Huzzah!!!)

Jon coordinated the procurement of said tickets and, unfortunately, there was a problem with the transaction and he was forced to call the theater. We haven’t had the best interactions with customer service representatives lately, so I didn’t envy him this task. Much to our surprise, it took all of three minutes and everything worked out perfectly. (?!) After the call, this is what he said:

“We have to move to England. That was awesome. Three reasons:

1.) He was nice.
2.) He had a cool accent.
And, 3.) Customer service ACTUALLY functioned the way it was supposed to function.

Can you say that about ANYTHING in customer service in the U.S. anymore?”

No. You can’t.

(I think I’m cool with moving to London.)

2. Palestinian florists get shit done.

It seems to me that some people have forgotten the added value of greenery in a bouquet. Palestinian florists know it all too well:

These were added to my birthday bouquet from Jon. A-mazing. Can I just get a bouquet of these?

3. I agree with Carrie Brownstein.

I’ll be thinking wonderful thoughts the whole time on the off-chance that any pixie dust is thrown my way.

  1. Just wait if/until you need help in the London Tube–the people working there are nice, patient, and courteous. I. Was. Flabbergasted. Have fun in my motherland! I’m ever so jealous. Cheers!
