Delectable

Tomatoes

For dinner tonight, Tank made pesto and served it with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes on a gluten free baguette. While it was incredibly delicious, can these tomatoes really compete with those beauties?

So here I sit. Pining for (a) tomato season and (b) Palestinian tomatoes, which seemed to be perpetually in season and flavorful.

I miss Palestinian tomatoes.

2013: Year in Review

Because it was so much fun a last year

January:  Spending New Years in the Golan, hiking Masada, and staying in this most amazing of places in the Negev desert (home of the HBDP) — all during Jenelle’s visit.

Downtown Ramallah during Ramadan

I loved seeing the lights that were up around Ramallah over Ramadan last year; on streetlights, across streets, strung from minarets…

This was taken in downtown Ramallah right before the evening call to prayer (but after yoga – Farashe had a special Ramadan schedule and many of the classes were designed specifically for those who would be fasting all day), when the streets were practically deserted because everyone was home (or out) waiting to break the fast with a date, a cigarette, food, or all three.

Ramadan Mubarak everyone!
