2012: Year in Review

I got inspired to take a look back at my year in pictures. 2012 was a crazy year.

January:  Jonathan and I traveled to Florida for a friend’s wedding in West Palm Beach. While in-state, we also celebrated his birthday, met up with his parents at Harry Potter World, took a boat tour of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo, visited the Kennedy Space Center, and took a bike tour of Shark Valley in Everglades National Park. I Found the Truffula Trees

Dr. Seuss may have found his inspiration for the Truffula trees in The Lorax in Ein Gedi.

I Floated in the Dead Sea

This past Saturday, Jonathan and I visited the Dead Sea. It’s about an hour drive from where we live, down through the Jordan Valley. Surrounding the Sea is a whole lot of nothing: mountains, desert, rock formations, and the occasional camel or donkey.

We pulled into the first beach we found, Kalia Beach, which was surrounded by a barbed wire fence. It cost us each 50 NIS just to get in (which is about $13).

After making our payment, we walked down a wooden staircase/walkway and were greeted with this:
