2015: Year in Review

One more time

January 2015: Visiting New York for a birthday weekend for my boo, filled with surprises – including his parents arriving for brunch, Aladdin on Broadway, and dinner out with a champagne toast from my parents (via technology).

SDCC 2014

Tickets for San Diego Comic-Con 2015 recently went on pre-sale for those who went to Comic-Con last year. There were three of us who went together last year and so the three of us sat online the other day, waiting to be invited to purchase our tickets for 2015.

As luck would have it, Jonathan was the only one who was invited in — but he was able to get the three of us tickets for all four days next year (as opposed to only Thursday/Sunday, which is what we had this year).

…And I am really looking forward to it. In its honor, here’s a round-up of SDCC 2014 highlights.

LLAP around the world

When traveling with me, one must take a moment to be photographed doing the Vulcan salute. It is known. (For real.) (Seriously.)

Here’s a round-up of a few of my favorites.

On the wall around Graceland, during my birthday trip there in 2011 with Jonathan, Alissa, and Kate. (After this picture was taken, I can clearly remember Kate saying, “Was the hand thing really necessary?” Yes. Always.)

Enterprise D

I’m just going to come clean right now and admit that I have a Google alert set for Star Trek. I do. It is because of this that I learned that the remains of Gene Roddenberry, Majel Barrett Roddenberry, and Jimmy Doohan will be flown into space at the end of 2014 aboard a flight that will use solar sails.

Pretty cool, right? Yes and no.

As I read the round-up of articles provided to me — there were write-ups from the Mirror, Chicago Tribune, Celebrity Cafe, ComputerWorld, and TV NZ: One News that all played up the Star Trek-iness of this all: science fiction meeting science fact yada yada yada — I started to notice the treatment of Majel in these articles, where in all but one (thank you, ComputerWorld!) she was nothing more than “wife of.”
